Most of the team learned how to make a game using RobloxStudio for the first time and completed it successfully within the given time frame. Within 24 hours, we were able to create a game that does not only promote socialization but also learning that will be helpful to millions of children at home today. Learning how to work the text GUI and the toolkit in RobloxStudio was a bit challenging for us as many of us only encountered the game building console for the first time. Through the use of RobloxStudio, we created a server, designed it with artifacts using Roblox models, and coded the learning material that students may easily click on as they go around the museum. As the user gets close to the model, they may click "E" to open a pop-up that shows more information about the historic model in terminology that is easy to understand. The virtual museum has sections where students and/or children may check out different models from the Prehistoric era with dinosaurs, Ancient Egypt with Pharaohs and pyramids, Famous paintings and sculptures including the Mona Lisa, The first moon landing, and much more. Our Roblox Virtual Museum allows students to go around three levels of different sections, containing different artifacts from around the Earth and beyond it. Our virtual museum hopes to create more socializing opportunities and learning opportunities for children during this time where everyone is advised to stay at home. Knowing also that more than half of the children in the United States use Roblox, with it having more than 120 million monthly active users - we built our interactive game in Roblox to increase the chances that children are already familiar with the interphase and have experience in enjoying games within it. For 2021, we wanted to alleviate this issue so we thought about creating an interactive virtual museum. A recent study from the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children revealed that 70% of children and adolescents in Ontario had worsening mental health since the start of the pandemic. COVID-19 has been tough on all of us, including children.
